Nursing Services

South Roanoke has two units each staffed, twenty-four hours a day, by Charge Nurses, Medication Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. The licensed professional Nurses dispense medications and treatments ordered by the physician. Our trained staff works closely with each resident and the physician to develop a care plan designed to meet the needs of each individual resident.

Certified Nursing Assistants are an integral part of the care team. They are licensed to provide personal care for each resident. Our CNA’s have permanent assignments offering a more comfortable, secure environment for the resident.

Rehabilitation Services

Our Physical Therapist is on staff at South Roanoke, he develops individual programs for each resident depending on their capabilities and needs. The focus is for each resident to obtain their maximum potential and improve their overall condition as much as possible.
Occupational and Speech Therapies are available as needed to offer a well rounded rehabilitation program.

Upon completion of a formal physical therapy program, nursing rehab. services are available in order to continue a more structured exercise program.

Dietary Services

Proper nutrition plays an important roll in the overall health and well being of each resident. A Registered Dietitian evaluates, on a regular basis, the nutritional needs for each resident.

A select menu program allows the resident to make a choice for lunch and supper.

South Roanoke has a lovely, inviting dining room where residents can enjoy their meals. The resident’s call it “The Chatters Lounge” a place to socialize and share a meal together.
